Meet the West Hollywood Team Behind Ellery ADU Studio West Hollywood
We’re the crew that shows up to your property in West Hollywood with a tablet, a tape measure, and a printed copy of your permit set. Between us, we’ve walked maybe two thousand Los Angeles County lots. What keeps us together isn’t a motivational poster. It’s the agreement we all signed: show the client what you found, write down what it’ll cost, and don’t start work until both are on paper.
Our People
Nadia Ellery, Owner
I started this studio in 2015 after watching my third consecutive client get handed a “revised estimate” six weeks into a garage conversion in Silver Lake. That was enough. I built Ellery ADU Studio around one pre-construction meeting format: numbered items, real dollar figures, and no adjectives where a number will do. I still sign every written quote personally. Under Haven Standard Clause 1, the price on that page is the price you pay, or I haven’t done my job. I live in Mid-City with two dogs who have zero respect for my schedule. I will cite a setback variance before I’ll tell you I’m “passionate about housing.”
Marcus T., Lead Technician
Marcus runs our field measurements and existing-condition documentation. He’s been with us since 2019, which means he’s crawled through roughly four hundred crawl spaces in West Hollywood, Beverly Grove, and the Fairfax District. His specialty is structural as-builts, the drawings that show what you actually have versus what the city thinks you have. He’s ICC-certified for residential structural inspection, which matters when your 1920s garage turns out to have no footing at all. Off hours, Marcus restores vintage motorcycles and will talk about weld penetration until you ask him to stop. He takes the photo record on every site visit. Clients get the images, not his commentary on them.
Dana K., Senior Installer
Dana coordinates our framing, MEP rough-in, and weatherization crews across West Hollywood projects. She came up through Habitat for Humanity builds in the Bay Area before getting her California B-General license in 2017. Her particular skill is utility tie-ins on tight lots, the kind where your sewer lateral runs under your neighbor’s driveway and your electrical service is maxed at 100 amps. She prefab-coordinates with our Abodu, Cover, and Plant Prefab partners, which means she speaks crane-rigging and foundation tolerance in the same sentence. Dana keeps a spreadsheet of every restaurant within walking distance of every active job site. It’s color-coded by cuisine and whether they validate parking.
Raj P., Service Coordinator
Raj is who answers when you call (213) 329-7167. He’s also who makes sure your permit set moves from plan check to issuance without sitting in a bin for three weeks because someone checked the wrong box on a fire-sprinkler exemption form. Raj has been navigating LADBS and West Hollywood Community Development since 2018. He knows which plan checker will flag a parking waiver and which one wants to see your landscape plan in color. He speaks four languages, which helps more than you’d think in a city this diverse. Raj does not believe in “I’ll call you back.” He stays on the line until it’s handled or transferred to the person who can handle it.
Jordan L., Apprentice
Jordan joined us in 2023 through the California Apprenticeship Council’s construction program. They’re rotating through every phase: drafting, site prep, framing, finish. Right now they’re shadowing Dana on MEP rough-ins and learning to read a Title 24 energy compliance report without wincing. Jordan’s already certified in OSHA 30 and is working toward their C-36 plumbing license. They grew up in a duplex in Koreatown and have strong opinions about where ADUs should and shouldn’t go, which they’ll share if you ask. They also draw comic strips about permit delays, which we don’t officially endorse but do quietly circulate.
One Standard, Every Job

Every person on this page works under the same agreement, whether we’re designing a junior ADU on a West Hollywood R-2 lot or coordinating a Mighty Buildings modular unit onto a hillside property in the Hollywood Hills. The Haven Standard doesn’t change because the zip code does. Written price before work starts, Clause 1. Documented photo record on every visit, Clause 3. 365-Day Done Right Promise, Clause 7. We’ve done this on over nine hundred ADUs since 2015. The standard is the standard. Nadia Ellery signs it. The crew executes it. Raj makes sure the city understands it. And Jordan is learning why it matters that nobody gets to change the deal after the deal is made.
